Abstract: This review discusses the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features of direct human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) brain infection as well as other common opportunistic infections and neoplasms in the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) population. MRI utilizing T2-weighted images is an ideal method for screening.
