Title: [Cogan syndrome. Reversible perceptive hearing loss, non-syphilitic interstitial keratitis and aortic valve insufficiency]. Author: Møller A, Junker P. Journal: Ugeskr Laeger; 1993 May 24; 155(21):1644-5. PubMed ID: 8317003. Abstract: Cogan's syndrome (CS) is a systemic disease of putative immunological origin. The syndrome comprises fluctuating and progressive sensorineural hearing loss and nonsyphilitic interstitial keratitis. Other manifestations are seen, aortic insufficiency in particular. A characteristic case of CS is described in which reversal of sensorineural hearing loss was achieved during oral corticosteroid therapy. In addition, aortic valve insufficiency was diagnosed, necessitating surgical valve replacement.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
