  • Title: Experimental murine mycotic placentitis and abortion. A potent animal model (short communication).
    Author: Jensen HE, Schønheyder H.
Journal: J Exp Anim Sci; 1993 Apr; 35(4):155-60. PubMed ID: 8329467.
    Abstract:
The model of murine mycotic placentitis shares a number of similarities with the disease in other mammals and therefore it seems applicable as a general model for the study of pathology and pathogenesis involved in the development of mycotic placentitis. Moreover, the selective proliferation of fungi, especially demonstrated for A. fumigatus, and subsequent development of placentitis may serve as a general model for studies concerning biochemical, metabolic and physiological alterations taking place during placentitis.
