    Abstract:
    Male Mongolian gerbils, Meriones unguiculatus, vaccinated with 500 20-krad gamma-irradiated cercariae of Schistosoma mansoni did not exhibit resistance against a homologous challenge infection. Gerbils appear promising as alternative laboratory hosts for the study of schistosomiasis.
