Title: [Rehabilitative treatment after surgery of the knee ligaments]. Author: Patkowski W, Leś M, Kalinowski C. Journal: Polim Med; 1993; 23(1-2):123-6. PubMed ID: 8415284. Abstract: Proper management of a patient begins basically before the operation of the ligament system of the knee. Before as well as after the operation the state of the muscular force of the quadriceps muscle of thigh which conditions the proper functioning of the knee should be taken into consideration. In managing rehabilitation exercises in the first phase one should concentrate on the flexion of the knee. Deficit of extension is removed only in 3 month after the operation, never, however, with the re-dressment method. Returning of the patient to work and to sport is in the 9th month. The last control takes place 2 years after the operation.
