Title: Tactile naming disorder of the left hand in two cases with corpus callosum agenesis. Author: Koeda T, Takeshita K. Journal: Dev Med Child Neurol; 1993 Jan; 35(1):65-9. PubMed ID: 8449381. Abstract: The authors report two girls with corpus callosum agenesis, with unilateral tactile naming disorder in the left hand. Neuropsychological examinations were performed and tactile perception and naming were studied. The results suggested that tactile naming disorder in both cases could be regarded as a disconnection deficit. Both had daily epileptic attacks and mild or moderate mental deficiency. In these severely impaired children, brain capacity and neural plasticity seem inferior, so classical disconnection deficits might be demonstrated.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
