Abstract: We present the case of a young patient with a history of alcoholism and chronic relapsing pancreatitis, who developed an associated pseudocyst. During the course of the disease he presented an acute abdomen due to splenic rupture and splenic thrombosis, disclosed by laparotomy. Following splenectomy and drainage the evolution was satisfactory. In the present paper we discuss the presentation of splenic vein thrombosis and splenic rupture as a rare complication of pancreatic pseudocyst.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
