    Abstract:
    Lymphocytes from allograft recipient mice, stimulated in vitro by the donor strain cells, release a mediator (the macrophage activating factor of MAF) which is able to render cytotoxic normal macrophages. This work investigates the origin and characteristics of the MAF-producing sensitized lymphocytes. The congenitally athymic Nude mice sensitive to anti-0-serum plus complement, resistent to treatment with corticosteroid hormones and dependent of the presence of the thymus in adult life.
