Abstract: Lasers have been used in otorhinolaryngology for more than 2 decades. The Carbon Dioxide laser has been the ideal choice for many otolaryngologists, in addition to the Nd:YAG, KTP, and Argon lasers. Each of the presently available lasers has it benefits and limitations. Advances in laser technology, new laser wavelengths, and delivery systems provides more choices for clinical use. A review of the uses of lasers in otology, rhinology and head and neck surgery, and advances in technology is presented.
