Title: [The late results of using metal ceramic dentures]. Author: Kniazeva MB, Kulikov VR, Saakian ShKh, Kalamkarova SKh, Karagoian GKh, Berezhnaia TN. Journal: Stomatologiia (Mosk); 1995; 74(5):55-8. PubMed ID: 8597188. Abstract: A total of 258 patients aged 29 to 59 wearing cermet dentures for 3 to 10 years were examined. Complications, such as ceramic fracture, inflammatory changes in the gingiva, functional overexercise of the periodontium, failure of cement fixation of the crown, apical periodontitis, occurred in 32 (12.4%) patients. The causes of these complications were analyzed and measures to prevent them developed. 284 patients aged 28 to 60 were fitted with cermet dentures after therapeutic and orthodontic preparation, with all prophylactic measures being adhered to; the results were followed up for 3 to 10 years. The incidence of complications reduced almost four-fold: they were observed in but 3.5% of patients.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
