  • Title: [Kimura's disease in a 25-year old man].
    Author: Erlendsson AK, Sprogøe-Jakobsen S.
Journal: Ugeskr Laeger; 1996 Mar 04; 158(10):1382-3. PubMed ID: 8644388.
    Abstract:
Kimura's disease is a chronic inflammatory condition of unknown etiology. It usually presents as a tumour-like swelling with a predilection for periauricular and submandibular regions. There are no systemic visceral manifestations except an association with nephrotic syndrome. The lesion is always benign, but may easily be mistaken for a malignant tumour. The diagnosis is made by biopsy. The treatment of choice is surgical removal. A distinction between Kimura's disease and angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophilia (ALHE) is made. A case of Kimura's disease in a young Caucasian male is presented.
