Title: [The effect of antidepressants on the catecholamine content of the rat hypothalamus and adrenals]. Author: Arushanian EB, El'bek'ian KS. Journal: Eksp Klin Farmakol; 1995; 58(6):14-6. PubMed ID: 8704602. Abstract: Chronic administration of depressants of various classes in rats and a single administration of reserpine result in changes in catecholamine exchange in both hypothalamus and adrenal glands. Antidepressants prevent from a sharp decrease in level of hypothalamic dofamine, induced with reserpine. The importance of central dofaminergic mechanisms for specific effect of compounds is emphasized.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
