Abstract: Nail dyschromia in patients infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) was first described in 1987 by Furth and Kazakis. It has since been reported in many patients with the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), predominantly in those taking azidothymidine.
