Abstract: Oxidative phosphorylation in the liver mitochondria of new-born and adult rats has been studied as affected by nitrates. It was established that the conjugation between the processes of respiration and phosphorylation is disturbed, energy efficiency of respiration in the liver mitochondria decreases in the new-born and adult animals. The found disturbances are more distinct in the new-borns that is evidenced by the dose-dependent effect under nitrate intoxications established in this group of animals.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
