Title: Anorexia nervosa: an overview. Author: Hobbs WL, Johnson CA. Journal: Am Fam Physician; 1996 Sep 15; 54(4):1273-9, 1284-6. PubMed ID: 8816572. Abstract: Anorexia nervosa is a psychologic illness characterized by marked weight loss, an intense fear of gaining weight even though the patient is underweight, a distorted body image and amenorrhea. Treatment may be administered on an inpatient or outpatient basis and involves nutritional and psychologic rehabilitation.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
