PubMed ID: 8874591. Abstract: Paroxysmal phenomena are rare but relatively typical clinical symptoms of multiple sclerosis (MS) caused by abnormal excitation in demyelinated plaques. We report the case of a 25-year-old woman with ocular convergence spasms as a new type of paroxysmal phenomenon in MS. MRI revealed the associated brainstem lesion in the region of the medial longitudinal fasciculus. Bromocriptine treatment was successful in resolving the paroxysms.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
