Abstract: Masticatory myofascial pain is a relatively frequent occurrence in patients seen by the orthodontist. Thus it is important to understand the management of this condition. Treatment is generally directed toward the restoration of a more physiological state in the muscles of mastication and involves medications, appliances, various forms of behavioral modification, as well as the use of muscle exercises and trigger point therapy.
