Title: Subglottic paraganglioma. Author: Peterson KL, Fu YS, Calcaterra T. Journal: Head Neck; 1997 Jan; 19(1):54-6. PubMed ID: 9030946. Abstract: Paragangliomas are uncommon neuroendocrine tumors. In the head and neck region they are most commonly associated with the carotid body, vagus nerve, jugulotympanic paraganglia, and occasionally the superior and inferior laryngeal paraganglia. Laryngeal paragangliomas and subglottic paragangliomas are rare. There have been nine reported cases in the English literature of subglottic paragangliomas. We present a case of this unusual lesion and discuss histologic characteristics and surgical treatment.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
