Abstract: Out of 1.7 million people who need care, 1.2 million live in private homes and receive care from their partners and families. In this setting, considered private nursing, certain duties are reserved care professionals by reasons of professionalization. The need for professionalization has been accepted, however, it remains to be clarified which attributes are characteristic for each kind of care as a basis for developing cooperation of private and professional care in the future.
