Title: [Value of regional lymph node excision for prognosis of advanced malignant melanoma treated by perfusion of the extremity]. Author: Huber R, Krüger I, Stützer H. Journal: Langenbecks Arch Chir Suppl Kongressbd; 1996; 113():118-21. PubMed ID: 9101808. Abstract: Staging by means of preoperative clinical screening will always stage melanoma study patients too favourably. Only a postoperative histopathological staging by means of lymphadenectomy will allow a correct stage-correlated patient prognosis. Lymphadenectomy does not prolong overall survival (95% confident intervals +/-6.6% to +/-25%) however prolongs recurrence free survival.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
