Title: [Asthma or asthma-like condition?]. Author: Löwhagen O, Ellbjär S, Jörgensen N. Journal: Nord Med; 1997 Apr; 112(4):119-21. PubMed ID: 9198808. Abstract: Asthma is currently seen as an inflammatory disease of the airways. The clinical characteristics are any of a variety of airway symptoms occurring in conjunction with bronchial obstruction (which is reversible on treatment with beta 2-agonists or steroids) and bronchial hyper-responsiveness. The symptoms can be triggered by a variety of factors and the clinical picture is not uniform. The most common differential diagnoses are chronic obstructive lung disease (COLD) and asthma-like conditions unaccompanied by bronchial obstruction.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
