    Abstract:
    Fever is still an important indicator of disease, and an indication for diagnosis and treatment. Accurate measurement of the temperature is therefore desirable. The infrared tympanic thermometer abolishes the necessity of axillary, oral and rectal measurement, which are less reliable, and unpleasant to the patient.
