    Abstract:
    The technical achievements of this century have dramatically increased the risk of severe burns. Planning the management of burn injuries resp, burn disasters, the establishment of a prevention program is as important as the work out of a meticulous program for rescue and treatment. A planned rescue, triage and treatment improve the prognosis of the injured patient due to early beginning of the therapy. Burn injuries over 20% of total body surface area have to be treated in special equipped burn centers. In these centers, the patient is treated with the acute phase until to his medical, psychological and social rehabilitation.
