  • Title: [In vitro fertilization in Norway].
    Author: Ertzeid G.
Journal: Nord Med; 1997 Sep; 112(7):233-5. PubMed ID: 9380488.
    Abstract:
In 1984 the first baby was born after IVF in Norway. Presently, about 1 percent of all babies born in Norway are IVF-babies. Though the number of replaced embryos usually is reduced to two, the success rate is unchanged, but decreasing with increasing age of the woman, especially after the age of 35. The proportion of twins is so high that one should consider only to replace one embryo in selected cases. The mortality is higher than expected for singletons, but seems to be decreasing.
