    Author: Mitrokhin SD, Ivanov AA.
Journal: Zh Mikrobiol Epidemiol Immunobiol; 1995; (4):99-101. PubMed ID: 9381887.
    Abstract:
During the survey of children with different state of intestinal microflora the amount of carboxylic acids excreted with feces by these children was found to depend on the degree of the microecological imbalance of the intestine. As revealed in this study, significant changes in the excretion of a number of volatile fatty acids released as metabolites of intestinal microflora were observed as early as at the initial stages of the development of microbiological imbalance.
