Abstract: Several versions of the transmission/disequilibrium test (TDT) were applied to the two candidate genes ACTHR and Golf for bipolar illness. Analyses were carried out separately for paternal and maternal transmission. Evidence for linkage and association was found for ACTHR for paternal transmission in support of a parent-of-origin effect.
