Title: Anterior segment complications of argon laser therapy. Author: Thomas NE, Morse PH. Journal: Ann Ophthalmol; 1976 Mar; 8(3):299-301. PubMed ID: 944544. Abstract: Similar complications have been reported with both xenon arc and argon laser photocoagulation. Emphasis has been placed on complications in the posterior segment. However, with the argon laser, anterior segment complications such as iritis, focal iris atrophy, inequality of pupil size, posterior synechiae, anterior subcapsular and cortical lens opacities and corneal leukomata may occur. The majority of these complications may be prevented by adequate dilatation of the pupil, patient cooperation, and selective use of retrobulbar anesthesia.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
