Title: Echography: a new approach to the diagnosis of adrenal hemorrhage of the newborn. Author: Pond GD, Haber K. Journal: J Can Assoc Radiol; 1976 Mar; 27(1):40-4. PubMed ID: 945275. Abstract: A case of adrenal hemorrhage of the newborn, diagnosed by ultrasound, is presented. All other diagnostic modalities were found to be non-specific. Ultrasonic evaluation is recommended in the evaluation of pediatric abdominal masses. This is a safe, non-invasive, rapid and easily performed study. It is felt that the use of diagnostic ultrasound in evaluating neonates for adrenal hemorrhage wil obviate the necessity of more invasive procedures, such as exploratory laparotomy.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
