    Author: Alwazzan KA.
Journal: Egypt Dent J; 1995 Jul; 41(3):1283-6. PubMed ID: 9497670.
    Abstract:
Facial aesthetic depends greatly on the presence of teeth specially maxillary anterior. Four-hundred-six patients (191 males and 215 females) were examined to investigate the variation of mesiodistal crown width and amount of tooth display between right and left maxillary anterior teeth. The result of this survey indicated that right and left maxillary anterior teeth are not always identical. A difference of up to 1 mm in mesiodistal width and the amount of tooth exposure between the right and left maxillary central incisors is considered to be within the range of normal appearance. Right and left maxillary lateral incisors and canines have the same range of difference as that of central incisors.
