Title: [Artificial "adaptation" to cold using noradrenaline]. Author: Lariukhina TM. Journal: Biull Eksp Biol Med; 1976 Mar; 81(3):286-9. PubMed ID: 953268. Abstract: A study was undertaken to evaluate the muscle thermogenesis of rabbits 2-3 weeks after the intravenous injection of norepinephrine under conditions of cold. Electrical activity of the muscles proved to decrease single administration of norepinephrine proved to maintain (for several weeks) the temperature homeostasis with a much lesser electrical activity of the muscles than before the administration of norepinephrine. Apparently this phenomenon underlied adaptation of animals to cold.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
