  • Title: [Women in surgery].
    Author: Schmidt-Tintemann U.
Journal: Langenbecks Arch Chir Suppl Kongressbd; 1997; 114():752-5. PubMed ID: 9574259.
    Abstract:
There seem to be no gender-specific qualifications for surgery. Yet a traditional role model keeps the number of women involved small. The patriarchal character of surgery has hardly changed. Meanwhile, changes in social organisation, planning of life and division of labour inside the family have opened up surgery for women to a certain degree in recent decades.
