Title: [A case of lung cancer with pericardial effusion without cardiac tamponade]. Author: Ohke M, Yamadori I, Yuzurio S, Aoe K, Ozaki S, Kimura K, Yonei T, Kishimoto T. Journal: Nihon Kokyuki Gakkai Zasshi; 1998 Jan; 36(1):77-80. PubMed ID: 9611981. Abstract: Cardiac tamponade as an initial manifestation of primary lung cancer is uncommon. All such cases had shown symptoms of cardiac tamponade at the first visit of the hospital. We report a case of lung cancer with pericardial effusion without cardiac tamponade. Echocardiography, revealed little pericardial effusion and it has not increased for 3 months. Pericardiotomy revealed adenocarcinoma and lung cancer was confirmed by bronchial biopsy. It is necessary to further examine patients with even slight amounts of pericardial effusion.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
