    Abstract:
    The influence of truncal vagotomy (TV), selective vagotomy (SV) and selective proximal vagotomy (SPV) with concomitant pylorus-preserving duodenoplasty (DP) on gastric secretion, stimulated by pentagastrin, was studied in chronic experiment on dogs with gastric fundus fistulas. SPV with pylorus-preserving DP causes the most prominent influence on neurohormonal phase of gastric secretion. After SPV and DP conduction in 345 patients the result was significantly better than after SPV with gastric drainage operation.
