MATERIALS AND METHODS: LPO was in 161 chronic alcoholics 89 of whom had renal disorders. RESULTS: Chronic alcoholics with renal disorders had noticeable LPO enhancement as indicated by high plasma levels of malonic dialdehyde and acylhydroperoxides. CONCLUSION: The phenomenon of LPO activation in chronic alcoholics with renal lesions can be employed in differential diagnosis with renal affection of non-alcoholic genesis.
