Abstract: A patient with a complete agenesis of the inferior vena cava is presented. In this rare anomaly the blood of the pelvic veins is drained through the dilated venae lumbales, vena azygos and vena hemiazygos into the superior vena cava. The malformation was detected within the scope diagnostics of deep vein thrombosis.
