Title: [Abdominal aneurysm]. Author: Konno H. Journal: Nihon Rinsho; 1998 Sep; 56(9):2401-4. PubMed ID: 9780728. Abstract: Ulcer bleeding in the upper gastrointestinal tract is one of severe complications in the patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). Retrospective analysis of patients with AAA and prospective endoscopic study revealed ulcer lesions occurred more frequently in AAA patients than in controls. Decreased gastric mucosal blood flow (GMBF) and accompanied consumption coagulopathy (CC) mainly contribute to the development of postoperative ulcer bleeding. Recently, the number of AAA patients with ulcer bleeding has been decreased remarkably after we started the anti-ulcer therapy for AAA patients with low GMBF or/and the administration of heparin for the patients with CC.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
