Title: [Transport into the cell nucleus of p42 and p44 isoforms of MAP kinase induced by epidermal growth factor requires the presence of intact active cytoskeleton]. Author: Arnautov AM, Nikol'skiĭ NN. Journal: Tsitologiia; 1998; 40(7):639-47. PubMed ID: 9793177. Abstract: The influence of cytoskeleton-depolymerising agents (nocodazole and cytochalasine D) on EGF-induced transport of p42/p44MAPK into the cell nucleus was investigated. Using immunoblotting and immunofluorescence methods we have shown that depolymerization of microtubules does not affect EGF-induced nuclear import of MAPK, while actin depolymerization significantly inhibited this process. At the same time, cytochalasine D did not affect the EGF-induced MAPK activation in the cytoplasm. These data indicate that the EGF-induced nuclear import of MAPK depends on the microfilament system.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
