Abstract: The inability to produce eukaryotic glycoproteins with complex N-linked glycans is a major limitation of the baculovirus-insect cell expression system. Recent studies have demonstrated that metabolic engineering can be used to extend the glycoprotein processing capabilities of lepidopteran insect cells.
