PubMed ID: 9861805. Abstract: The purpose of this article is to acknowledge the success of using intravenous immunoglobulins in children with Guillain-Barré syndrome and to review the literature. A 17-year-old African-American young lady with Guillain-Barré syndrome of 11-days duration underwent intravenous immunoglobulin treatment. Within 6 days, the patient was ambulating and was showing significant signs of improvement.
