Abstract: Problematic vaginitis due to Candida presents both a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge. An essential first step is confirmation of clinical diagnosis and avoidance of empiricism. Once correctly diagnosed, most episodes of vaginitis due to Candida are uncomplicated, responding to all forms of antifungal therapy.
