Title: Genomic fingerprinting of Proteus species using repetitive sequence based PCR (rep-PCR). Author: Serwecińska L, Cieślikowski T, Pytlos M, Jaworski A, Kaca W. Journal: Acta Microbiol Pol; 1998; 47(3):313-9. PubMed ID: 9990714. Abstract: Three Proteus species P. vulgaris, P. mirabilis and P. penneri have been characterized by repetitive sequence-based PCR. Four families of repetitive sequence based primers REP, ERIC, BOXA1R and BOXA2R, give specific patterns for each Proteus species. Species differentiation was best afforded using BOXA2R for detection of P. mirabilis, either REP-Dt or BOXA1R primers for detection of P. penneri and ERIC primer pair for P. vulgaris.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
