  • 21. On call. I have always had my blood tests taken the first thing in the morning, before I've had breakfast. We've just moved to a new home and I'll have a long commute to the hospital, so I'd like to eat before I start out. My cholesterol has always been great, so my doctor said a light breakfast won't interfere with cholesterol tests. But he didn't know if eating would change my PSA result. What do you think?

  • 22. On call. I'm a 61-year-old man with high blood pressure. My doctor wants me to take Zocor to lower my cholesterol, but I'm worried about muscle damage. I found a Web site that claimed coenyzme Q(10) would help. Is that right?

  • 25. Ask the doctor. I sometimes forget to fill my prescriptions and go several days without my medicines. I know it's important to take my blood pressure pills every day. Is there any danger if I don't take my cholesterol medication for a few days?

  • 28. On call. I am a 71-year-old man with diabetes and high blood pressure. I take Glucophage for my diabetes and Zestril for my blood pressure, and my doctor says both problems are under good control, but I've developed a very annoying problem. Every time I eat, I develop terrible sweating on my face and neck. It only lasts 10-15 minutes, but my shirt collar gets soaked and I'm too embarrassed to go out to dinner. Am I allergic to something in food? Am I getting hot flashes as my wife did when she had the change of life?
